The HIGH PRIEST (the THANTRI) is the hereditary Brahmin Priest of the temple belonging to the Edavaleth Pudayoor Illam of Thaliparampu and is the SUPREME AUTHORITY in deciding the terms of the day-to-day performances or duties or observances in the temple and the dates and duration of special poojas such as BHAGAVATHI SEVA and PRATISHTA DINAM. In regard to all the matters pertaining to the temple, his decision is FINAL and IRREVOCABLE. On special occasions, he comes here and directly conducts poojas. In addition to the THANTRI, there are two BRAHMIN chief priests, worshipping daily the God Mahaganapathi and the other deities in the temple.
