THE FASCINATING GOPURAM

The newly constructed Temple Tower (GOPUAM) is a two – storeyed building with two apartments in the ground floor and one hall in the first floor . The basement of the Gopuram is rectangular in shape and the Gopuram is entirely made of granite stones and foreign wood.

A large number of gracefully carved images of flowers on the ceiling of the ground floor together with the twenty eight charming figures of Ganapathy engraved on the eight pillars of the Gopuram are indeed delectable to the eyes. All these amounted to the huge expenditure of 50 lakhs of rupees for the renovation of the Gopuram.

The restoration of the Gopuram is fast approaching its completion. The dignified dedication with the solemn ceremonies of the splendid Gopuram takes places on Sunday, the 2nd November 2014 at the auspicious time between 8.30 AM and 09.30 AM by the Brahmasree CHENNAS HARI NAMBOOTHIRIPAD, the THANTRI of the GURUVAYUR temple in the presence of sri. EDAVALETH PUDAYUR KUMBERAN NAMBOOTHIRIPAD, the THANTRI of the Kannancheri Sree Maha Ganapathy Temple. Thus the magnificent Gopuram in a superb blend of grace and beauty and is a splendid and a spectacular sight.

May, Maha Ganapathi, the God Almighty, the destroyer of all obstacles, the donor of all boons and blessings, the giver all glory and grandeur shower fame and fortune incessantly on each and every one of us.

In a nut shell, this temple is a divine cornucopia that presents the devotees with a placid, pleasant and prosperous life.

It is really gratifying to note that Kannancheri once a land of pit-looms immersed in the deep pit of poverty is being developed into a delectable lap of prosperity by virtue of the blessings of the God, Mahaganapathi. We fervently hope that in the years to come, Kannanchery would be blossomed out as a first-rate village in the arena of Education, Health, Wealth and Textile business and what not!
