Another notable celebration is the “VINAYAKA CHATURTHI”. On the early morning of the day, MAHA GANAPATHI HOMAM (a big offering made with fire as its vehicle) is conducted, using 1008 coconuts and other related pooja substances such as honey, sugar-cane and sugar candy, all in proportional quantity. Further, A MUTHU VILAKKU, a special pooja is also solemnized at night.
